The vine was planted in 2016 and now needs cutting back twice a summer. It is not a roof, and we do not pretend otherwise.
When it is open
May to October, both services, weather permitting. It closes without notice when the wind turns, which on this coast it does, and everyone moves inside. We will have found you a table before you have finished asking.
Can you book it
You can ask, and we will note it, but we do not guarantee terrace tables. Anyone who tells you they can guarantee an outdoor table in a harbour town in August is selling you something.
The best hour
Half past eight in July, when the sun goes down behind the lighthouse and the whole terrace stops talking for about ninety seconds. Book for eight and you will catch it.
Practical
- The terrace is level from the yard entrance. No steps.
- Heaters in May and October. None in August, for obvious reasons.
- Dogs are welcome on the terrace and not inside.
- It is the smoking side, which is why some people ask for the room instead.
