The monthly Tuesday

We close one Tuesday a month for staff dinner. The date is chalked on the door a fortnight ahead and posted with the catch board that morning. If you have booked, we telephone you.

November

We close for two weeks in November, usually the second and third, when the fleet is in and the weather has turned. Sofia goes to Crete. Yiorgos repaints something.

Public holidays

• Clean Monday — open, and one of the best days of the year here. Book.
• Good Friday — open, lunch only, and the menu is entirely without oil, as it should be.
• Easter Sunday — closed. We are at home, and so should you be.
• 15 August — open, and full. Book in July.
• 25 and 26 December, 1 January — closed.

Weather

The terrace closes when the wind turns, without notice, because the vine is not a roof. The room stays open. We have never closed for weather in forty-eight years, which locals will tell you is a boast and is.
