Children
Welcome at every service, including late. We have three high chairs and we will grill a plain fish with nothing on it, no lemon, no oregano, for anyone who wants it that way. Nobody here thinks a child in a restaurant at ten at night is a problem.
Telephones
Face down on the table is fine. Taking a call at the table is fine if it is short; the pier is nine steps away if it is not. Photographs of the fish are expected and Sofia will turn the plate for you.
Dogs
On the terrace, yes, and there is a bowl by the door. Inside, no, and it is the health inspector’s rule rather than ours.
Smoking
Terrace only, and downwind of the table next to you if you can manage it.
The corner table
It has been the Theodorakis family’s on Sunday lunch since 1981. You are extremely welcome to it every other service of the week, and we will move you rather than turn them away, which they have never once asked us to do.
Splitting the bill
Any number of ways, in any combination of cash and card, and nobody will sigh.
Tipping
Not expected, always shared, and never on the card — it goes to the company rather than to Yiannis. If you want to tip, leave it on the table.
Dress
There is no dress code and there never has been. People come off boats.
